New Theater/Lecture Hall
As an active paleontological site, the Mammoth Site is one of the most unique places on earth. We are the world’s largest Columbian mammoth exhibit, research and educational facility for Pleistocene studies. More than 26,000 years old, the sinkhole and in-situ exhibit of mammoth bones attracts over 110,000 visitors, researchers and scientists annually.
To better accommodate our visitors and guests, the Mammoth Site needs to construct a state-of-the-art Theater/Lecture Hall. The 5,800 square foot facility will house a 126-seat hall that can be divided into two separate theaters, a new museum entrance with interior public restrooms and additional exhibits, and expanded gift shop storage.
At a cost of $1.5 million, this capital project will allow the Mammoth Site to greatly expand our educational and scientific reach while better accommodating our daily visitors. The new state-of-the-art facilities can house lectures by visiting scientists and researchers, international symposiums, and expanded educational programming; while daily visitors will be able to watch the orientation presentation in a comfortable surround sound setting.
Your help is needed to make this project a reality. A gift to the new
Theater/Lecture Hall
will ensure the Mammoth Site’s vision of contributing to scientific knowledge
and sharing
that knowledge with the public will be achieved.
